Prosperity
of a nation depends a lot on dignified living and not just development in terms
of material success. If we talk of dignified living the first issue that comes
into our mind is rights of an individual. Amongst all other rights an important
one is right to a dignified living. This means any person shall not face
violation in terms of sex, caste, creed or colour. In the present context of political
and social turmoil it is important to establish peace and order so as to ensure
a person’s dignified and peaceful existence.
In
India stigmatizing people on the basis of caste and religion has been a common
issue since many years and the innumerable steps taken to do away with such
vices have failed or have been partially successful. It is indeed ironical hat
a country that attaches everything to religion does not feel the importance of
ensuring the privacy and protection of heir female gender. On the other hand
they are brutally tortured and their human rights violated at several
junctures. People belonging to the so called lower caste are denied their basic
existence. While manifold solutions can be suggested to tackle these issues the
most important solution o the problem is to enlighten the new generation.
Science has broadened the horizons of this generation so it is time the society
wakes up and tries to usher in positive changes. The best place to begin is
from schools where a child puts his/ her first foot on the journey to a brand
new world free from vices. Let us all therefore open our doors and windows and
let the fresh air of peace and freedom come in.
